5.Acer announces small form factor PC, 23-inch LCD

Look out marketplace, here comes some more Acer stuff. The company has lifted the decorative kerchief that’s been draped over a large, mysterious box to reveal a new 23-inch 16:9 HD monitor and a small form factor PC known as the Aspire X1700.
The monitor is called the H233H and features something Acer’s calling “SensorTouch technology” which is described as “a touch-sensing solution with effortless settings for one-touch convenience.” Basically, there are no buttons on the LCD – instead, you’ve got touch-sensitive zones where the buttons would normally be located.

4. Viewsonic 22-inch 120 Hz LCD monitor

As the screen sizes of LCD monitors continue to increase, more consumers are expecting their monitors to be usable as HDTVs, complete with a full connectivity suite. While the dual-use possibilities are definitely a plus, it does add significant cost to a display that might never see anything more than a spreadsheet and a browser. Picking up on this is the Viewsonic VX2235wm, which offers only VGA and DVI connectivity, but delivers a very reasonable $400 list price for a 22-inch wide-screen LCD monitor. While we weren't blown away by the performance, it should be fine for situations where image quality isn't a top priority.

5. ViewSonic Makes First iPod Integrating Monitor

The new ‘ViewDock’ series from ViewSonic is the first – that I know of – LCD screen to integrate an iPod dock. ‘Wow!” I hear you say, and “Why?” Told you so!
This unlikely union is simultaneously practical and impractical since the series can 1. charge your iPod while you work but 2. only charges only when the PC is switched on. Likewise you can 1. view video from your iPod on a ViewDock screen but 2. do you really want such low res content stretched to 20+ inches?

Still there are multiple connectivity options such as several USB2.0 ports, an 8-in-1 card reader, mic and integrated stereo speakers with that all important subwoofer. Unfortunately other vital specs such as native resolutions, screen sizes,
availability and – notably – price were all missing.

Adding to its SD-card-based AVCCAM series--not to be confused with its P2-card-based and seriously more expensive P2HD series, which includes the AG-HVX200A--the AG-HMC40 joins the AG-HMC150 and its shoulder-mount cousin, the HMC70 in the ranks of Panasonic's pro AVCHD camcorders.

Smaller and lighter than either of its line mates, with a much simpler design, the HMC40 is also the first in its line to includes a trio of full HD resolution 1/4.1-inch 3MOS sensors rather than CCDs. It incorporates a 12X zoom lens of as-yet unknown (to me) focal-length range and can shoot 10.6-megapixel stills (obviously interpolated, since none of the sensors are that high resolution).
Like its brethren, the HMC40 will support up to 21-megabits-per-second recording in a range of HD formats, including 1080 and
720 at 60i, 30p, and 24p frame rates. Pro connections include a
removable XLR mic input. Interestingly, the camcorder also has
consumer-type features like a touch screen, face-detection AF,
and prerecord.
The AG-HMC40 is slated to ship in August for $3,195.

2. Panasonic VDR-D310 (silver) - Panasonic Camcorders

The Panasonic VDR-D310 is their top-tier DVD camcorder, replacing last year’s VDR-D300. We loved that camcorder for its brilliant performance in bright light and compelling manual control set – once rare assets in a DVD camcorder. However, Sony’s DCR-DVD505 edged it out with an even better looking picture. This year both companies lowered the price of their replacement models considerably. But both also created a much sweeter high-end model – AVCHD high definition DVD camcorders. Not everyone is ready for HD, though, and the VDR-D310 offers compelling reasons to remain in standard def for the time being: good video, optical image stabilization, a low price, and more.

3.Toshiba Camileo S10 Camcorder launched

The S10 has a 2.5" flip screen, 4x zoom and a 5 mega pixel sensor for still images along with the impressive ability to record in 1080p resolution for High Def footage. Hard to believe when the S10 is just about the size of a mobile phone, but it is ultra mobile and will be more than suitable to slip into your pocket for any trip. If only it made calls too, it would be the only gadget you'd need!The Toshiba Camileo S10 also has 128MB of internal storage or the option to use a SD card.

Other models in the Toshiba Camileo range are the H20 which has the traditional camcorder design and has a 5x optical zoom, HDMI connection, a 5MP sensor, a 3" screen and 1080p recording. The P30 has the same features of the S10 but has a different design again and sports the pistol grip.

4.Toshiba rolls out HD handycam

Anyone who’s seen Cloverfield knows that capturing life’s events through a camcorder is the ‘in’ thing now. But while the in the movie they relied on tape-based cameras, Toshiba has unveiled an HD camcorder enabling you to capture all the action in detail.

The manufacturer’s Camileo Pro camcorder is the flagship of the existing Camileo range and has a built-in five-megapixel CMOS sensor, able to capture video at a resolution of up to 1280 x 720 pixels. Content is encoded into H.264/MPEG 4 format and, although the integrated 128MB memory won’t last you very long, there’s an external memory card slot for SDHC cards of up to 32GB. A USB 2.0 port also features.
A 3x optical zoom, in addition to a 4x digital zoom, means you won’t have to be right underneath the lizard/monster thing to capture it ripping the head from of The Statue of Liberty. Toshiba states that the camcorder will also capture still images of up to 11-megapixels.

An HDMI port is built into the camcorder that’ll allow you to display all your video-based antics on an HD TV, provided the monster hasn ’t reduced your apartment to rubble. If it has though, then you can watch content through the camcorder’s own 2.5in

LCD display.
If you’re totally knackered after running around the city and videoing you and your band of brothers killing strange creatures in subways and semi-demolished buildings, then you can always use the Camileo Pro HD to play some relaxing MP3 audio files. The XFR is strengthened by a new exterior material the PC maker is calling Ballistic Armor, which replaces the magnesium alloy used in its other laptops. It's allowed the machine to be trimmed down -- it's now 3.9kg instead of 4.1kg -- and also strengthened: it meets military specifications for ruggedness and can withstand a 1.2m drop rather than just 90cm. The new XFR also keeps most of its original features: a touchscreen, a solid-state drive, mobile broadband, GPS and long battery life. In this case, Dell says an additional battery pack will keep the laptops

going for up to 13 hours. Ballistic Armor was developed by a partner company and licensed exclusively to Dell. It's a hybrid, nonmetal polymer designed to better absorb shocks and
withstand the elements. That Dell is experimenting with different
materials is intended to signal its willingness to try new things and
focus on creating different options for targeted customers. In this
case, that's military contractors, government and utility company
workers out in the field, law enforcement, and other groups not known
for being particularly gentle with their computers. Oddly, Dell doesn'
t feel bashful about launching a laptop that starts at $4,299 (£3,100)
at a time when many people are having trouble paying their mortgages
and others are afraid to even glimpse at their pension fund. Unlike its
most high-profile upcoming launch, a high-end consumer laptop
called Adamo-- about to hit shelves as consumer spending drops

The LG booth is definitely a must-see at this year's Mobile World Congress. The crowd it gathers is hardly a surprise, considering the number of hot devices LG have announced. The main star at the booth is our namesake - the LG KM900 Arena. Running on the brand new S class interface, the handset really promises unprecedented user experience and loads of eye candy throughout the menu.

The first step to fulfilling that promise is the announcement of LG GM730 a slim WinMo-running handset. The fully touch-operated GM730 comes with a 3" WQVGA screen, A-GPS, Wi-Fi and a 5 megapixel camera. USB and Bluetooth connectivity are also on board and the device still manages to keep its girth within 11.9mm.

LG announced today that it'll be letting dirty journos get their fingerprints all over it at the upcoming CTIA event in Las Vegas. The GD900 was around at last month's MWC show, but it was locked in a

LG says the GD900 is a slider with a 3-inch (7.6cm) touchscreen, and a transparent keypad that is illuminated when opened.

LG has promised us the crystal-clear handset will be hitting the shelves sometime in the second quarter of 2009.

The advanced shooting mode also provides feedback on how the camera is analyzing the data. The camera has a high ISO setting so users can snap better pictures in the dark. It also includes an LED flash, multi-face detection and high quality video recording.

The LG Viewty Smart GC900 will be available in May on the U.K.'s Orange network. Pricing details were not announced.

And yes, we think the Glamour Red version will be a favorite with the ladies.

We've already welcomed the W595 at the proto stage, but this time it's the real deal - we have a retail unit on our hands and we are ready to put it through its paces. A 2.2-inch QVGA display and the 3.2 megapixel camera will surely make it a tasty treat even without all the Walkman goodies on board. With its modern looks and intriguing specs list, it's about time we saw what the Sony Ericsson W595 brings to the Walkman party.

Its chunky slider appearance comes straight from the Volvo school of dull design, it's fairly chunky (14mm), features a small screen (2.2-inch) and the soft keys and direction / multimedia pad don't take advantage of the acres of ugly, unused bezel around it.

It’s now official folks – the first Android handset by Samsung got confirmed only several hours after it leaked. Named Samsung I7500, the handset features rich connectivity, a slim 11.9mm waistline and the latest reincarnation of the Android OS.
